In this City Select Lux review we will have a detailed look on what is good and bad of this stroller to help you decide if this product is for you.
The Baby Jogger City Select Lux is a bigger convertible stroller. It can accommodate multiple children. This stroller boasts a modern, superb design that is imminent upon first look. It has two same size seats that can carry weight of 45 lbs each. Unlike other convertibles that has unequal seats. The City Select Lux if popular among parents who has kids that are farther apart in age.
Because it is spacious, the Baby Jogger City Select Lux is not maneuverable. It is quiet long that is why it is hard to steer and maneuver. It is of a challenge when you push this stroller on a not smooth terrain. But on a flat surface there is no problem.
A bassinet or car seat is compatible with the City Select Lux because the seat on it is not suitable for children under 6 months. You can also buy many accessories that you can use with the Lux but you need to spend a little more because these are sold separately. Please take not that it does not come with a cup holder which is not good.
Features that are Great
Here are the things that we like with the Baby Jogger City Select Lux:
Car Seat Compatibility
When it come to car seat compatibility the City Select Lux is compatible with the Peg Perego, Nuna, Maxi Cosi, Graco, Cybex, Chicco and Britax car seats, you need to buy a separate adapter though to make it work.
The Lux has a handbrake instead of the usual foot break. It is easy to use and can also act as a decelerator when you are navigating through steep terrain.
Wheel and Suspensions
The wheels on the City Select Lux is filled with foam, this can give a smooth ride on uneven surfaces. Suspension on this stroller is not good but you need to think that this is not an off-road stroller, so it is not that smooth to maneuver on dirt road, sand, and gravel. But there is a trick to make it run on grass, you just need to lock the front wheels.
When it comes the configuration, the Lux can be configured in many ways. It is a double stroller so you can carry multiple babies at the same time. You can place the top seat to face forward while the bottom seat to face the rear, with this config you can let your babies face each other.
The only downside though is that there not enough legroom for both your babies, but this is great for twins especially it will allow eye to eye contact between the babies and also allowing them to play with each other.
The Lux can be converted to a double stroller with a bench or another seat and also with a Glider Board. If you have twins or children that of the same age you can carry it on this stroller you just need to add another seat or a bench seat if your child is older. A third child can be added with a Glider board. You need to note tough that these additional seats are sold separately.
The storage basket of this stroller is big enough and huge. You can store a lot of essentials while you are on the go. Even if it is a double stroller, it does not eat up the space for the storage bin.
Recline and Footrest
The recline of this stroller is deep but is not reclined completely flat. If you have a newborn, you need a carrycot or a bassinet to use this stroller for infants.
When it comes to folding, this stroller can be folded in a small footprint. It is smaller compared to the City Select and Vista. You need to remove the second seat and fold the primary seat in order to completely fold the stroller.
Pros and Cons
Here are the pros and cons of the Baby Jogger City Select Lux:
The handlebar extends far especially for tall parents.
The storage is spacious enough.
Tires are sturdy and great for any terrain.
Seat has good amount of padding; it is soft and comfortable.
It has great maneuverability and gives you a smooth ride.
Handbrake is hard to locate.
It is heavy to lift.
An adapter is needed to use a car seat.
When used as a double stroller, seating arrangement is too close together.
There are no accessories included in your initial purchase.
The Baby Jogger City Select Lux is a great stroller. It is a bit pricey, but it is worth the money you spend. Features of this stroller is great and premium.
